Richard’s Obituary Richard William Hart resident of Chiefland, Florida passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was 90 years old. He was born on July 29, 1930 in Des Moines, IA. Richard served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952. He farmed from 1952 to 1959 and then became a Florida State Trooper from 1959 to 1961. He then became a trucker in 1961 to 1982. Richard enjoyed traveling and seeing the country. After many years of trucking he went to work for the Florida Department of Corrections in 1982 to 1996, where he retired as a Sergeant. He was a true southerner with tremendous love for his family, farm life, karate and his country. Richard Hart is survived by his wife Sammye Lee Hart, sons, Michael and John, daughter Marybeth Hopson, six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at The Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Father Harold Ritchie officiating.
