Richard’s Obituary Richard Mark Kiel Sr. age 64 of Highland, Indiana passed away Monday, November 29, 2021. He was born May 24th, 1957 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Rick is survived by his cherished children Jennifer (Tim) Holden, Jessica Kiel, Rachel (Matthew) Franklin, and Richard Jr. (Mackenzie) Kiel, Adored grand daughters Shawna (Casey) Holden, and Chloe Ferrell, Dear brother and sisters Edward Kiel Jr., Donna Pyritz, Gail (Dave) Kurth, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Kiel was proceeded in death by his wife Cheryl Kiel and parents Edward and Annetta Kiel, and niece Debra Pyritz. A Memorial Service for Mr. Richard Kiel Sr., will be held on Saturday December 18th, 2021 at Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home, 3227 Ridge Rd. Lansing, IL from 2:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by a service beginning at 6:30 PM with Pastor John Richy officiating. Rick grew up in Lynwood, IL, he was a retired union carpenter that enjoyed his trade and liked fixing things around the house. He loved gardening and cooking with his granddaughters, fishing, watching Nascar, and going to the movies. He was a big fan of Science Fiction, Comedy, and watching his favorite TV show The Big Bang Theory. He enjoyed going to motorcycle shows with his family, and definitely wasn’t afraid to turn up his music. He frequently went to local establishments, to play pool, watch his favorite sports teams (Bears and Cubs), play the jukebox, and hang out with all his friends. Last but not least he enjoyed spending time with his late wife and family, and will be heavily missed by many. In lieu of flowers, contributions to toys for tots would be appreciated.
