Phillip Smith December 10, 1956 – September 14, 2021 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries Phillip Smith, age 64 of Marceline, died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon. Phillip was born in Marceline, Missouri on December 10, 1956 to Delmar Dean and Jacqueline Arletta (Powell) Smith. Phillip had worked on the track department for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway. He served on the Marceline city council and as Mayor for several years, was on the board of Rural Advocates for Independent Living, a member of the Marceline First Christian Church and former member of Marceline Eagles. He enjoyed riding his Harley, watching tractor pulls on youtube, getting together with former railroad employees, watching high school wrestling and spending time with his grandkids. Phillip is survived by his two daughters, Crystal Sears and Eric of Atlanta, Jessica Baker and Mike of Ashland, five grandchildren, Logan, Brooklyn, Hayden, Alexus and Sierra, four brothers, Raymond Smith of Liberty, Bill Smith and Carol of Liberty, Loren Smith of Monroe, WI; and Kevin Smith of Revere, MA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, late wife Tammy Smith, sister Crystal Thompson and sister-in-law Janine Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Marceline. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Monday, September 20 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Phillip’s honor to RAIL (Rural Advocates for Independent Living) and mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
