Pauline’s Obituary Pauline M. (Malin) Berra, 93 of Genoa, WI passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children on Thursday, December 2, 2021. She was born in Genoa on March 1, 1928, to Frank and Lena (Levi) Malin and on April 7, 1948, she married Raymond Berra at St. Charles Catholic Church in Genoa. Pauline was a homemaker and enjoyed being home with her six children. As the children got older, she started working at Rudy’s Bar and Motel in Genoa, serving breakfast to the fisherman, cleaning, and bartending for the next 35 years. She loved playing cards, spending time with her family and gardening. Pauline was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Parish in Genoa where she belonged to the Altar Society. She was proud to have made the risotto (yellow rice) for the Parish 4th of July picnic for many years. Pauline also enjoyed traveling. Her daughter Beverly took her to Alaska to visit her sister Elaine and she also visited Switzerland and took a Caribbean cruise with her daughter Rose. Pauline is survived by her six children; Beverly (Michael) Wickel of Byhalia, MS, Alvin Berra of Genoa, Dorothy (Ron) Stokke of Genoa, Terry (Karla) Berra of Stoddard, WI, Loraine (Mitchell) Bratland of Aurora, IL, and Rose (Daniel) Castro of Austin, TX.; seven grandchildren, Chris and Ben Stokke, Tyler (Veronica) Bratland, Mackenzie and Lucas Bratland, Rachel (Chris) Sample and Eva Castro; a sister, Elaine (James) Link of Anchorage, AK; a brother-in-law, Alfred Berra of La Crosse, WI along with many nieces and nephews. Pauline’s family would like to thank Mayo Hospice, especially Robbie, her visiting nurse, and Jeanne from Helping Hands for their wonderful and compassionate care.
