Patricia Ann (Rupe) Mattingly entered eternal rest on October 30, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1935 in Peoria, Illinois. As a young girl she resided in Olgesby, IL. Patricia moved to Rutland, Illinois in 1940. She graduated from Rutland Grade School and Rutland High School class of 1953. After high school Patricia attended St. Joseph’s Nursing School in Bloomington, Illinois graduating in 1956 as a registered nurse. On October 26, 1957 she married Alton Lee Mattingly of Wyoming, Illinois. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bloomington, Illinois; Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois and Minooka Elementary School as a nurse. Patricia resided in Bloomington, Illinois, Westville, Illinois, Eureka, Illinois, Minooka, Illinois and Morris, Illinois during her life. She had three children: Anthony Paul Mattingly (Kathy Mattingly) of Morris, Illinois; Michael A. Mattingly of Morris, Illinois and Susan Jeane Mattingly of Warrensburg, Illinois all of whom survived her. Patricia had one grandson, Scott Anthony Mattingly (Melissa Mattingly) of Manteno, Illinois. One granddaughter, Stephanie Bartels (Zach Bartels) of Morris, Illinois and six (6) great-grandchildren: Hailey; Riley; Finley; Addison and Maddux Bartels and William Alton Mattingly. Patricia was a former member of the Minooka Women’s Club, an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Blackhawks fan. Patricia believed church was important to a good life and encouraged her family and friends to attend Church regularly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton L. Mattingly; her mother, Mary Rupe; her step father, John Rupe each of Rutland, Illinois; and her brother, Anton J. Rupe of Rutland, Illinois; her brothers in law John Mattingly, of Edmund, Oklahoma, Paul F. Mattingly, of Normal, Illinois, Leo Cone’, of Kewanee, Illinois, Lewis (Buck) Saunders, of Venice, Florida and Donald Regnier, of Peoria, Illinois. Her sister in laws; Amy Mattingly, of Edmond, OK; Jean Mattingly, of Normal, Illinois; Ruth (Mattingly) Saunders, of Venice, Florida; Patricia is also survived by her sister, Helen (Rupe) Regnier of Peoria, Illinois; Brother and Sister in laws: William and Vickie Mattingly of Olgesby, Illinois; Sister in law Jane (Mattingly)Cone’ of Kewanee, Illinois and Sister in law Charlotte Rupe of Wenona, Illinois. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Services for Patricia will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, in Morris, Illinois with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. and internment thereafter at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Morris. In lieu of flowers or food, the family requests donations be made in Patricia’s name to either Immaculate Conception Church or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children in Memphis, Tennessee An online guestbook has been created for the family, where you may sign the guestbook, share memories and photographs.
