Kolenda, age 93, of Marlette, MI passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw, MI. Son of the late Paul L. and Lydia (Matschulat) Kolenda, Norm was born September 27, 1927 in Clawson, MI. He graduated from Clio High School. Norm proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He then went to college at Central Bible College in Springfield, MO graduating with a degree in Ministry. Norm married Diane Millen on April 9, 1976 in Berkley, MI. He supported his family with years of bench warming at countless basketball games, and hours of interceding in prayer for his family. Norm loved the Lord and it was his desire that all could experience the Gift of Eternal Life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and golfing. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years; Diane Kolenda; children, Norm Kolenda II, Thomas Kolenda and John (Jamie) Kolenda; grandchildren, Brooklyn and Isaiah Kolenda; brothers, John and Robert Kolenda; and many nieces and nephews. Norm was preceded in death by seven brothers, Louie, Ernie, Arnold, Roland, Daniel, Herb and Bill Kolenda. The family will receive visitors from 10 AM – 1 PM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette. A private Funeral Service will be held at Marsh Funeral Chapel with John M. Kolenda officiating. Due to Covid 19 regulations we will adhere to the strict guidelines and are asking all visitors to bring and wear a mask or face covering during visitation and service. Burial will follow in Marlette Cemetery, Marlette, MI.
