Nancy M DeCrsitofaro December 12, 2021 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation Nancy Marie DeCristofaro (nee Johnson) : born December 7, 1939 and entered into eternal rest on December 12, 2021 Nancy passed away peacefully at home in Scotch Plains December 12, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after recently celebrating her 82nd birthday. Nancy and Lou DeCristofaro, her loving and devoted husband of 63 years married as high school sweethearts. The young couple eloped the day after Nancy’s 18th birthday and their love for each other only continued to grow with age. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary renewing their vows in Turks and Caicos with their children and grandchildren. Nancy’s career spanned from nursery school teacher to office manager to customer service where she retired from UPS. However, her career did not define her. Family was one of the most important things to Nancy. She was a dedicated wife to Lou, who sat at her side for the months preceding her death. Nancy was a mother of 3 children, Anthony (Tony) DeCristofaro, Linda Circelli and Debra (Debbie) Murphy and a grandmother to 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by her three siblings, one sister Mary Helen Sullivan and two brothers Charles and Terrance Johnson. She loved traveling, whether it was spent in Stone Harbor with family or abroad with friends. Luck seemed to follow her around. She could leave with only $25 in her pocket and come home from a weekend in Atlantic City with $500. She was a resident of Scotch Plains for the last 63 years and involved in Rosary Altar Society of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church and many other activities including socializing at the local pool. Nancy was a women of strong will, known to be a giver, always thoughtful and loving. She was wise and faithful reminding her friends and family to Turn to God, Pray to God, Do Your Best and Give Your Best. She was generous and caring and while we will all miss her terribly, we acknowledge her journey is done here on earth, her suffering of illness is done and she is at peace smiling down at us from heaven. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Parish located at 2032 Westfield Avenue, Scotch Plains at 11:00am on December 17, 2021. Family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson Foundation tribute gift in the name of Nancy DeCristofaro.
