Obituary On the morning of July 01, 2021, Mr. Michael Lee Moore, age 50 of Marion, unexpectedly departed from this life and began his new one in Heaven at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital in Asheville. The son of Wilma Vallini Edwards of Marion, and Wayne Moore (Sheila) of Asheville, he was born in McDowell County on March 28, 1971. Michael will be best remembered for his love of people, his generosity and giving nature and his passion for antiques. He was known to always be able to make friends with anyone and everyone and never met a stranger. He always loved everyone unconditionally. Michael enjoyed collecting different things and especially going to yard sales and finding special things. He had a passion for anything that would be of help to someone, the beach and fishing when he could. He also really enjoyed gatherings of family and friends where he would be the grill master, making sure everyone had plenty to eat and letting you know that you were always welcome. Upon a visit with friends, he would always be sure to say, “If you need me for anything let me know.” Michael had a gift of finding treasures and as well as being a treasure to those that knew him. His loss has saddened the hearts of everyone whom he met on his journey in this life, but he leaves behind a long-lasting legacy of love and friendship through all of the people who he met along his way. His stepfather, William Donald “Don” Edwards, preceded him in death. Left behind to cherish the precious memories they made together are, in addition to his parents, His beloved husband, Roberto Moore of Marion, A brother, Wayne “Allen” Moore Jr. and wife Brett of Marion, a half-sister, Whisper Moore of Morganton, and stepsisters, Donna Edwards of Burnsville, Allyson Greene and Husband Dudley of Marion and Heather Edwards, also of Marion. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, Allana Moore and Kaleb Moore (Olivia), Sarah Zornes, Mary Greene, Julian Greene and Clover Yzquierdo, a special great niece and two special great nephews, Kade, Kallie and Kullen Moore, as well as a special cousin, Rhonda Johnson and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends he made along the way. A memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on Friday, July 09, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Westmoreland Funeral Home with Reverend Andrew Walker officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
