Obituary Michael “Kieth” Harper, 65, of Lapeer died Tuesday December 7, 2021 from Covid. He was born September 8, 1956 in Michigan City, IN to parents Donald and Melba (Woolever) Harper. Kieth married Amy L. Mitchell on June 17, 1988 in Naples, FL. Kieth was a long term owner / operator of a leading screen enclosure business in Florida. They moved to Michigan and Kieth loved all the weather and hunting. He was a bow hunter, always up for a challenge. Amy says, “he was a real country boy, right down to the big 4-wheel drive trucks” that caught her eye in the beginning. He also was known to build or re-build trucks to be better than they once were. Kieth sure loved animals, lots of dogs along the way, especially German shepherds. He was a character, one who will be missed. Kieth was survived by his wife: Amy, children: Nicholas (Izzy) Harper, Tiffany (Virgil) Lindsey and Michael (Grace) Harper, II, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, he took in six other kids (friends of family) as his own, siblings: Paul Grant, Karen Carter, Sherry Benton and Donny Harper, brother-in-laws: Charles Mitchell, John Mitchell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Dolores Richardson, Robert Grant, Sandra Schweizer, Donald E. Harper, II, mother: Melba Mrozinski and father: Donald Harper. The family has entrusted Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer with cremation. A memorial celebration of Kieth’s life will be scheduled next year, when things are safer.
