Martha’s Obituary Mrs. Martha Louise (Nee: Bass) Creason formerly of Truxton, MO, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. She was born October 4, 1928, in Paragould, AR, to the late Manley Guy and Dena B. (Nee: Eubanks) Bass. She had reached the age of 93 years. Martha was 19 years old when she married the love of her life, Billy Gene Creason. They were married for 55 years before his passing, August 21, 2003. To this union, one son, Roger, was born. Martha worked at, and retired from, Blue Cross Blue Shield. She and Billy spent most weekends servicing weddings for K&V Florists. Martha was known for her wonderful cooking, especially chocolate chip cookies. She was also known for holding large family Christmas celebrations with the Bass family and Thanksgiving dinners with the Simpson family. Once Martha and Billy moved to their farm in Truxton, MO, they took great pride in helping make the Old Threshers event in Montgomery County a huge success year after year. Moreover, there was nothing Martha loved more than throwing well-attended family reunions at the farm. Martha was also a member of the ladies Extension Club. Later in life, while living at the Garden Villas of O’Fallon, Martha volunteered her time helping with flower arrangements and bringing around a gift cart where she would visit with other residents, including those in the assisted living building. Her cart provided residents the opportunity to purchase little trinket gifts and necessities such as stamps and greeting cards. The two things she liked best about living at The Villas were going on weekly outings and playing BINGO several times a week. She also enjoyed coloring pictures to give to friends and loved ones, working on word search puzzles, and attending church services with SunRise United Methodist Church. Martha found pleasure in watching hummingbirds visit her balcony hummingbird feeders and, more than anything, giving hugs to everyone. Martha Louise Creason was preceded in death by her loving husband, Billy; parents, Manley and Dena Bass; daughter-in-law, Janet Creason (Roger); grandson, Patrick Creason; and siblings, Reba Wait, Manley Everett Bass. She is survived by her son, Roger Creason (Sandra Kash); granddaughters, Charity Copeland (Jay), Kimberly Rose (Patrick); great-grandson, Kannon Copeland; dear relative, Floyd Coonce; brother, Ray Bass (Marilyn); many nieces, nephews, and other friends and family. A private family graveside service was held Friday, November 19, 2021, at Warrenton City Cemetery.
