August 17 1938 September 8 2021
Marilyn’s Obituary Marilyn B. Alexander of Chiefland went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born to the late Mixon and Blanche Bailey on August 17, 1938 in Willisville, Arkansas. Marilyn graduated from Fairview High School as Valedictorian in Camden, Arkansas where she was very active in sports and cheerleading. Marilyn married her high school sweetheart Bill Alexander, June 1, 1957 and they shared 64 wonderful years together. He will miss her every day until he joins her in Heaven someday. She is survived by her husband Bill Alexander, son Rob Alexander (Jackie) of Chiefland and her daughter Shannon Cook (Stephen) of Gallatin, TN. She was the best Mamma to 7 grandchildren Kara Hendrickson(James), Trace Alexander(Samantha), Alexis Isham (Jordan), Christian Cook(Mandy), Kelsi Morgan(Michael), Jackson Cook (Joleigh) Bricen Clemons and two Great Grand Children Tenley and Emersyn. She had the privilege of mentoring a bonus daughter, Shugar Yadav, and her husband, CB, children Adi and Shiv. She also had two Sisters in Love Mary Hattie Curtis (Roger) and Barbara Smart (Tom) and a Brother in Love Levis Alexander, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Bailey. She considered “homemaker” a fulltime job and she made sure she did it well. She once said it was her God given “talent” to make a home where everybody was welcomed and everyone felt comfortable. She was an awesome cook who was especially adept at making pie crusts and biscuits and she taught many friends how to make them both without a recipe. If you stopped by her house, you were not going to leave hungry. She enjoyed crafting with friends, as well as “junkin”, as she called it, where she looked for hidden gems in antique stores and flea markets. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed having planned time one on one with her grandchildren where she made sure they had projects and activities scheduled every day while they were visiting. She enjoyed fishing with a cane pole and was good at that too. Most of all she loved the Lord. She was faithful in attending church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She served on every committee there was within the Methodist Church. A celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church Chiefland on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am.
