Obituary Marie Ann Montanye Bruce, 78, of Summerville, SC, loving wife of James L. Bruce, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at MUSC. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday morning, December 11, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Seacoast of Summerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marie’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation by visiting www.kidney.org. Marie was born April 1, 1943 in Amsterdam, NY, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Montanye. She worked as a legal administrative assistant. Marie loved line dancing, crafting, reading, fast cars, and spending time with friends. In addition to her husband, James “Jim” Bruce of Summerville, SC, Marie leaves behind her son, James D. Bruce of Ladson, SC; daughter, Lorilynn M. Figueroa also of Ladson, SC; sister, Francis Drumm of Canajoharie, NY; and three grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and a sister, Maureen Nestle.
