Margaret Anastasia Dunkle died peacefully on October 27, at her home in Reading in the presence of her loving family. Margaret was born February 20, 1935, in Anaheim, California. Her parents were Dr. Francis and Nora Cain. She leaves her husband John, four of her five children, Clare Dunkle-Moser, wife of Robert Moser, Wyomissing, Catherine Scrimgeour, wife of James Scrimgeour, West Hartford Connecticut, Benjamin Dunkle, husband of Jeanne Dunkle, Buffalo New York, Brian Dunkle S.J., Boston College, her sister, Mary Collier, her brother and sister-in-law, James and Mary Cain, fifteen grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Her son Matthew died in 2015. Margaret’s brother, Rev. William Cain S.J., died in 2017. Margaret graduated from St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles with a BA and from Fordham University in the Bronx with an MA in English Literature. She worked for many years as a book editor for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich in New York City. In lieu of flowers send contributions to Holy Rosary Church in Reading, Lifeline in West Reading, and Pro-Life Berks. The wake will be held on November 1, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Kuhn Funeral Home in West Reading. The Funeral Mass, celebrated by Fr. Brian Dunkle S.J., will be held at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary, and the burial will follow at Gethsemane. Read Less
