Obituary Mae (Tiddens) Van Hekken went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the age of 100. She had a deep and unwavering faith and awaited her eternal home. She had a strong and steadfast love for her family and possessed true grit and determination. Her great joy was “that her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all love our Lord”. She is survived by four children: John (Elsa) Van Hekken, Marilyn (Ken) Corstange, Jean (David) Brower, Carol (John) Huizer; 10 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren (soon to be 31); 2 great-great-granddaughters; two very dear sisters, Cris Dieleman and Amy Ritsema; and her brother-in-law Ken Van Hekken. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Neal; son David Van Hekken; granddaughter Kristin (Corstange) Lane; great-grandson Jaxon Brower; two brothers-in-law Frank Dieleman and Ken Ritsema; and a sister-in-law Joyce Van Hekken. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 12, at 1:00PM at Plymouth Heights CRC (1800 Plymouth SE 49506). Being very concerned about childhood hunger, she was a supporter of Kids Food Basket and would appreciate a memorial contribution to them, if you desire, (Kids Food Basket, 1800 Plymouth NE, Grand Rapids MI 49505).
