Parrish, 75, of Sandusky passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 26,1946 in Goodells, MI to the late Richard and Eileen (Kennedy) Johnson. She was a member of the graduating class of St. Stephen High School, Port Huron, in 1964, the year the school closed. She married William Parrish on April 25, 1969 at St. Edward Catholic Church On The Lake, Lakeport, MI. Madelyon was a member of Holy Family Parrish, St. Joseph Catholic Church for 51 years. She worked as a secretary to the Superintendent at the Sanilac County ISD for 27 years. Madelyon enjoyed knitting, gardening and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Madelyon was active in the Sandusky Community Hearts and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at McKenzie Hospital and the local Hospice program in its early years. Madelyon participated in the annual Scare Crow decorations both in the city and at the courthouse and the tree decorations and lighting at Christmas time. Madelyon and several of her friends were early morning walkers and gathered to knit and enjoy each other. Together they knitted countless prayer shawls which they gave to individuals who were ill or grieving the loss of a loved one. She is survived by her husband, William Parrish; her daughter, Kim (Dean Symon) Biscorner; her son, Phil (Shannon) Parrish; four grandchildren, Dr. Brady (Karrianne) Biscorner, Keegan (Corinna Parker) Biscorner, Allie Biscorner and Elise Parrish (Tyler Kursinsky); siblings, Dorothy Mahon, June Johnson, IHM, Helen (Jerry) Werthman, Janet (Bruce) Maxwell, Suzanne Neaton, Ed (Debbie) Johnson, Ray (Kathy) Johnson, Ellen Brandon and Mary Leigh (Larry) Powers; sister-in-law, Helen Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. Madelyon was preceded in death by her siblings, Leroy Johnson, Russell (Penny) Johnson, Bruce (Ann) Johnson, Lois (Jim) Hyde, Eileen (Robert) Kramer, Gail (Jake) Jacobson, her twin Marion (Danny) Hillis; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Neaton and Bill Brandon. The Family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Sandusky and from 10-11 AM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sandusky. A Scripture Reading will take place on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stephen Blaxton officiating. Rite of Commital will take place at 2:30 PM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Kenockee Township with Father H. Thomas Kuehnemund officiating. Bearers will be, Keegan Biscorner, Jason Hillis, Craig Hillis, Pete Johnson, Mike Leen and John Guttowsky. Honorary bearers will be, Elise Parish and Allie Biscorner. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Residential Hospice Care, 1681 Woodbridge Park Drive, Lapeer, MI 48446.
