Obituary Lori Louise (Klingensmith) Marangoni, 63, of Apollo, passed away at home on December 22, 2021 from causes related to dementia. Born January 18, 1958 in Kittanning, she was a daughter of the late Gertrude and Frank Klingensmith. Lori was a 1976 graduate of Leechburg Area High School. After high school, Lori held numerous jobs in the area, but her proudest accomplishment was her career in child care. She earned an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development and dedicated her life to caring for thousands of children over the years throughout the Alle-Kiski Valley. Affectionately known as “Miss Lori” she began her career at ABC Academy in Gilpin and retired from Small World Day Care in 2017. Lori was an avid baker who loved to bring together her family through food. To many of her children’s friends, she served as an adhoc mom by way of providing unconditional love and support via her chocolate chip cookie recipe. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Dan, her three children, who made up the entirety of her world, Bethany (Brad Watkins) of Baldwin, Adam of Apollo, and Matthew Marangoni of Loveland, CO, siblings, Lee Ann (Jim) Emmerling of Steubenville, OH, Lisa Mottillo of Gilpin, and a brother. Lori is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. At the family’s request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Apollo, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
