Obituary for Linda Fay (White) Cook Linda Fay (White) Cook, 75, passed to her eternal home during the early afternoon hours of Tuesday (June 16, 2021) following an extended illness. Linda was born on August 7, 1945 in to the late Thomas Preston & Myrtle White. Linda was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her coffee, word puzzles, and canning. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband, James “Jay” Ollie Cook; sisters, Gaynelle Elam and Beulah Felty; brothers, Buddy White and John Orville White; and grandson, Jackson Lee Cook. Left to cherish her memory are six sons, James L. Cook, John Scott Cook & girlfriend Ashley, Ronald R. “Sam” Cook & wife Cathy, Marvin Wayne Cook & fiancé Tammy, Thomas Lee Cook & wife Amanda, and William Cook; brother, Leonard White; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. The family will greet guests and share memories on Thursday (June 17, 2021) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services (417 Lee Street Bristol, VA 24201). Linda will be laid to rest on Friday (June 18, 2021) at 12:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy Abingdon, VA 24210). Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:15 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Thompson, Tim Taylor, Tommy Elam, Little Tommy Elam, Ricky Osborne, and J J Alexandra, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Malcolm, Mike Grubb, Sam Smith, Lucas Thompson, Juston Davis, and Ronnie Felty. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Blevins Funeral Home and Cremation Services to help with funeral expenses.
