Obituary Lila Louise Jackson Cook, 89, of Moss Point, MS, departed for heaven on Friday, December, 3, 2021 surrounded by her family at Ocean Springs Hospital. She was born in Grand Bay, AL, on March 25, 1932 to the late Horace Greely Jackson, Sr. and Sarah Jane Findley Jackson. Lila loved her children and was so proud of each one. She was always at ballgames, school functions, Brownie meetings and anything else her children were involved in. When she was younger she loved playing basketball at Orange Lake School; she graduated as Salutatorian. She loved to sew, sewing doll clothes and clothes for her daughter and then for her granddaughter. She worked at Wal-Mart, with her last position being door greeter which she enjoyed immensely. She loved her church; Midway United Methodist Church and she loved the Lord. Along with her parents, Lila is preceded in death by the father of her children, Ernest H. Cook; brothers, Howard Jackson, Willie Joe Jackson, Mickey Jackson, and Horace Greely Jackson, Jr.; sisters, Josephine Taylor, Lula Taylor, Myrtis Schliesser, and Thelma Jordan; nieces, Mazie Tyndall and Wanda Coggins, who were raised with her like sisters. Lila is survived by her children, Beverly (Wayne) Dennis, Sr., Bruce Cook(Judy Barfield), and Brad Cook (Paula Stokes); grandchildren, April (Randy) Baughman, Jerrod (Jamie) Cook, and Alyson Stokes; great-grandchildren, Seth, Andrew and Hailey Powell, Brittany Baughman, Claire and Greer Cook; niece, Janice (Larry) Crisco, her sister at heart. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point/Escatawpa, MS, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Brian Pullin officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Orange Grove Cemetery in Moss Point. Pallbearers will be Wayne Dennis, Sr., Dennis Turner, Mark Carroll, Larry Crisco, great-grandsons Seth Powell, Andrew Powell, and Greer Cook, as Honorary Pallbearer.
