Lila “Jean” Hembree, 80, of Travelers Rest, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 15, 2021 at Rivers Falls Health and Rehab. Born in Monks Corner, SC, she was a daughter of the late Perry and Margaret Elliott Dill. She was formerly employed by A & H Grocery and a member of Belvue Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years: Daryle Hembree; son: Keith Hembree(April); daughters: Rhonda Baker(Jimmy), Lisa Adams(Hugh); grandchildren: Shawn Hembree, Kayla Hembree, Savannah Richardson and her boyfriend Mickey, Daniel Hembree(Michaela), Rev. Michael Baker(Moe), Zack Baker(Jodi), Caleb Baker(Kayla), Keylan Hawkins(Jeremy), Coby Adams; great-grandchildren: Liana, McKenna, Nyla, Colt Lollis, Kayden Hembree, John Austin Baker, Lauren Baker, Emma Grace Baker, Noah Baker, Ella Baker, Lila Hawkins, Hughstin Hawkins, Danilan Hawkins, Neagan Hawkins; and her adopted parents: John H. and Texie Jones. Graveside services will be Friday afternoon at 1pm at Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601. The family would like to thank the staff at River Falls Health and Rehab for the professional and caring way they cared for Jean for 14 years, and Traditions Hospice for their care in her final days.
