Larine T. (Weed) Risica, 52, of Westerly RI, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021, after a brief illness at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Westerly she was the daughter of the late Francis and Hermine Weed. She was a graduate of Chariho High School Class of 1987. Larine volunteered for many charitable organizations and was a passionate animal lover who also enjoyed crafting. Larine had a long and successful career with Washington Trust spanning more than 30 years. She started in 1989 as a Loan Operations Clerk. In 1998, she transferred to the Secondary Market Department as a Servicing Specialist. In 2005, she transferred to the Financial Administration Department as a Reconciliation Associate and in 2011 her position was then transferred to the Operations Team. She was a recipient of the Washington Trust Community Service Award in 2004 in recognition of her volunteer service to the local communities which the Company serves. Larine was a great employee, kind person and good friend, and will be sorely missed. She genuinely cared about her coworkers, always remembering to ask how their family was doing or to offer help when she knew they were in a difficult situation. She always had a positive outlook and shared her enthusiasm with everyone she talked to. Larine is survived by her 20-year-old son Kyle H. Risica of Westerly. She was a very proud mother who enjoyed sharing stories of Kyle’s accomplishments. She is also survived by her brother John J. Weed of Ashaway, and her sisters; Cherie E. Weed of Ashaway, and Heidi M. Weed of Richmond, as well as several nieces and nephews. Larine was predeceased by several loving aunts and uncles. Our thoughts and prayers are with Larine’s son and the rest of her family. Visiting hours will be held in Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly, on Monday from 4-7 pm.
