Kenneth Darwin Hayen, 64, of Rosamond, CA, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 at his home. He was born on September 12, 1955 in Torrance, CA to Harold and Doris Hayen. A proud veteran, Ken dedicated himself to his country in the United States Air Force. He served during the Gulf War, and after 24 years of service, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. Much of his service was spent at March Air Force Base in Riverside, CA, Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, CA, and Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, CA. Ken was preceded in passing by his father, Harold Hayen. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Hayen; mother, Doris Hayen; daughter, Rene Taylor and her husband Jesse and sons Brenden and Gavin; daughter, Misty Nil Olmos and her children Marisa and Antonio; daughter, Crystal Marie “Monkey” Hayen and her children Joseph and Natalia; siblings, Janet Lee Thomas, Ray Lynn Alvord, and Richard Keith Hayen; Darlene’s daughter, Karen Wood-Stewart and her children Kyle, Kaliyah, Kobe, Kimora, Kyrah and husband Kaelin, and grandchildren Karter and Kaiser; Darlene’s daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Thorpe and her children Lily and Luke; and numerous nieces and nephews. He enjoyed battling bears and losing monster fish at Twin Lakes Mono Village with family and friends, spending quality time blowing out your eardrums in soft conversations, and giving his grandkids many memories to cherish, such as bone-rattling handshakes, noogies on their heads and many bear hugs.
