A Celebration of Karen Ruth Woods Wyont life will be Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Texas. Karen Ruth Woods Wyont was born July 15, 1957 in Jasper, Texas where she was raised. A 1975 Jasper High School graduate where she was a cheerleader. She graduated from Texas State where she was a member of the well-known Strutters dance team. After graduation she moved to Houston, Texas and met and married her forever love Larry Wyont. They welcomed and raised their daughter Carolina in Houston. They retired to Edisto Lake in Wagener, South Carolina in 2018 to be closer to her. Karen always dreamed of living on a lake and loved capturing and sharing the beautiful sunsets and surrounding wildlife on a daily basis. Karen was outgoing and vivacious. She never met a stranger and was always involved in something. She immersed herself in all activities surrounding Carolina. From team mom to art ala carte teacher and many roles in between. She never missed a beat. Her caring nature and willingness to help with anything and anyone was a true testament to her character. She was overjoyed when Carolina met and married her husband, Jack Allison. The birth of her grand babies Boyd (2 1/2) and Milling Mae (1) who’s middle name is in honor of Karen’s beloved mom. They brought so much joy to her life and were her most loved pastime, thinking, loving, breathing when it came to them. She also adored her grand dogs Blaze and Cash. She loved spoiling them every time she came to visit and always made sure they had a spot on the couch next to her. Karen’s love included her closest sisters Vickie Woods Modeland, Kellie Woods Smith, and her brother Timothy Jones, along with her extended family which included many stepbrothers and stepsisters. Her entire family meant everything to her and she loved them dearly. Her quiet strength was an inspiration to all who knew her and her unconditional love was felt by so many. Karen exemplified selflessness and her generosity was beyond measure. Her light shown so bright and her love for everyone knew no bounds. She lit up every room she walked in and was a true friend and mother figure to so many. Karen always put everyone’s needs before her own and constantly saw the beauty in the little things in life. All of her family and friends have such wonderful memories to cherish of her. She touched so many lives and will be forever missed by all who knew her.
