Mr. Senn will lie-in-state at the church one hour prior to the service from 10-11am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Wilburn was a strong, loving, and supportive family man. His integrity and passion to those he loved was unwavering. Wilburn’s infectious laugh and smile will live on forever. Wilburn lived with cancer for the last twelve years of his life. He battled the disease with the most amazing grace, bravery, and strength. He lived everyday with positivity and determination not to let the disease keep him from doing the things he loved. Wilburn loved music, especially Church hymns. He attended singing school at the Hamilton Crossroads Church of Christ as a youth, learning how to pitch and lead songs for Church Services. This passion evolved into an annual, Old-Country-Church-Singing hosted by Wilburn and Mary at the former Hamilton Crossroads Church building located at Wilburn and Mary’s home. Singers from the tri-state area would participate in this soul-lifting day, allowing the audience to lead their favorite songs supported by an incredible, singing talent. One of Wilburn’s greatest joys was playing golf. He developed a love of golf later in life and played every chance he got with his golfing buddies, whom he loved dearly. The family is grateful to all the friends and family who comforted Wilburn during his final days. A special thank you to Compassus Hospice and their commitment to his care. Mr. Senn is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Senn; children: Blane Senn (Tonya), Camille Shelley (Sam); grandchildren: Jackson Bryce Senn, John Gunter Senn, Zachary Eli Thompson, Taylor Elsbeth Thompson, James Parker Senn; brothers: Jacky Ray Senn and Paul Emmanuel Senn (Liz) He was preceded in death by his son, Jonah Senn; sisters: June Sullivan, Sissy Yancey and Erma Stringfellow.
