Hastings Funeral Home in PERRY is in charge of local arrangements for Jesus Torres Cubillo, 50, of Kaneohe, Hawaii. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 12:30 – 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial in Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Jesus Torres Cubillo was born in Degollado, Jalisco, Mexico on April 17, 1971, son of Miguel Torres Leon and Maria Guadalupe Torres. He received much of his early education in Tarimoro, Jalisco, Mexico. He came to the United States at age 16. At a young age he took on the role of a father figure to all his brothers and sisters and worked hard to bring them to the United States for a better future. He moved to Kaneohe, Hawaii where he worked in the restaurant industry and opened El Mariachi Mexican restaurant on July 28, 2006. His hobbies included fishing, playing soccer, cooking, spending quality time with family and friends and watching Steven Seagal and Van Damme movies. He was very joyful and enjoyed dancing and singing so much that when he got a hold of the microphone, he wouldn’t let go of it so easily. He was a man of unattainable principles with an enormous heart. He was optimistic and always faced life with joy and never gave up during difficult situations. He would always see the good in everyone and was constantly finding ways to help those in need especially homeless individuals that would walk into his restaurant. He always said that they were his best customers because they would always come back. He was a man of strong faith and believed in following gods ways. It has been a great blessing to have someone like Jesus in our lives. He always looked after his family and took care of us. He always made us laugh and had a heart of gold. Jesus always showed us the importance of living in the present, enjoying life and working hard to reach our goals. Jesus was a man with morals and was an exceptional son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceeded in death by his brother Fidel Torres and sister Martha Patricia Torres. Jesus is survived by his parents Miguel Torres Leon and Maria Guadalupe Torres of Perry; wife Veronica Torres of Hawaii; son Genaro Torres of Hawaii; daughters Khullyee and Chastaine Torres of Nebraska; brothers Gerardo and Miguel Torres of Hawaii, Martin, Ramon, Rafael, Genaro Torres of Perry; sisters Baudelia, Josefina, Maria de la Luz, Juana, Amelia, Lourdes, Rosario Torres of Perry; and many nieces, nephews and three grandchildren. Jesús Torres Cubillo nació en Degollado, Jalisco, México el 17 de abril de 1971, hijo de Miguel Torres León y María Guadalupe Torres. Recibió gran parte de su educación temprana en Tarimoro, Jalisco, México. Llegó a los Estados Unidos a los 16 años. A una edad temprana asumió el papel de una figura paterna para todos sus hermanos y hermanas y trabajó duro para traerlos a los Estados Unidos para un futuro mejor. Se mudó a Kaneohe, Hawái, donde trabajó en la industria de restaurantes y abrió el restaurante mexicano El Mariachi el 28 de julio de 2006. Sus pasatiempos incluían pescar, jugar al fútbol, cocinar, pasar tiempo de calidad con familiares y amigos y ver películas de Steven Seagal y Van Damme. Siempre decía que eran sus mejores clientes porque siempre volverían. Era un hombre de fe fuerte y creía en seguir los caminos de los dioses. Ha sido una gran bendición tener a alguien como Jesús en nuestras vidas. Siempre cuidó de su familia y nos cuidó. Siempre nos hacía reír y tenía un corazón de oro. Jesús siempre nos mostró la importancia de vivir en el presente, disfrutar de la vida y trabajar duro para alcanzar nuestras metas. Jesús era un hombre con moral y era un hijo, esposo, padre, hermano, tío y amigo excepcional. Fue llevado a muerte por su hermano Fidel Torres y su hermana Martha Patricia Torres. A Jesús le sobreviven sus padres Miguel Torres León y María Guadalupe Torres de Perry; su esposa Verónica Torres, de Hawái; su hijo Genaro Torres, de Hawái; las hijas Khullyee y Chastaine Torres de Nebraska; los hermanos Gerardo y Miguel Torres de Hawái, Martín, Ramón, Rafael, Genaro Torres de Perry; hermanas Baudelia, Josefina, María de la Luz, Juana, Amelia, Lourdes, Rosario Torres de Perry; y muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y tres nietos.
