Janet Helvey July 20, 1963 – December 26, 2021 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Janet Leigh Helvey, age 58, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021 at the Pikeville Medical Center. Janet was born on July 20, 1963 to her parents the late Paul Courtney and Maxine Hall Marshall. She was the wife of Michael D. Helvey, a school teacher for the Pike County Board of Education for 22 years, and a member of the Meta Baptist Church. Along with her husband, Janet is survived by one son, Travis Homer Helvey, one daughter, Courtnie Harlendra (John) Bentley, her best friend, Anntionette Crowell, one brother, Donnie Courtney, one sister, Donna Marie (David) Sutherland, six grandchildren, Kyra McCurry, Delanie Bentley, Gavin Bentley, Jordyn Helvey, Isaiah Helvey, Emersyn Helvey, and a host of loving family and friends. Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Bill Staggs and Jody Thompson officiating.
