James Timbs, 66, of Brighton, passed away on Tuesday, December 7 at Methodist Hospital Germantown. Mr. Timbs was a partner in Timbs Builders and Supply and Brighton Properties. He served as an alderman for the Town of Brighton, also serving at Vice-Mayor, was a reserve deputy for the Tipton County Sheriff’s Department, served on the Tipton County 911 Board, was a member of Gideons International, the Brighton Baptist Church and served on the Morrison Memorial Cemetery Board. He is survived by his wife, Cyndi Timbs; three children, Keith Timbs of Covington, Jamie Timbs Bullock of Brighton and James “Bubba” Timbs of Brighton; his father, Milford Timbs; one sister, Janet (Kenny) Campbell of Brighton; four grandchildren, Austin Timbs, Brent Bullock, Bailey Bullock and Rawlin Timbs; two great grandchildren, Damian Bullock and Paisley Bullock and six nieces/nephews, Jenna Campbell, Jordan Campbell McDivitt, Colton Hartsfield, Emma Hartsfield, Annsley Hartsfield and Woodrow Hartsfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Lou Timbs. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, December 13 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Morrison Memorial Cemetery in Brighton.
