PRINCETON – James Patrick “Dobber” McCabe, 78, of Princeton, died Sunday, October 31, 2021. Born April 23, 1943 in Welch, he was the son of the late John Patrick McCabe and Ennis Virginia Hurley McCabe. Mr. McCabe was a 1961 graduate of Princeton High School and a graduate of Concord College. He worked for Rockwell International for 11 years and later retired from Concord College where he was Director of Security for 25 years. He served with the US National Guard Army Reserve for 6 years and was a graduate of the 35th basic class of the WV State Police Academy. Dobber was a member of the Princeton Elks Lodge and an avid sports fan and golfer. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Kathy Jackson. Survivors include three children, Patrick Brian McCabe and wife Amanda of Princeton, James Kevin McCabe of Orlando, FL and Christina Naylor of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister Patricia Johnson and husband John of Princeton; brother, Michael McCabe of Charleston; and grandchildren, Aaron McCabe, Brooke McCabe, Brady McCabe and Addison McCabe. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Arrangements by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton.
