Hilda Stratton Lynch December 28, 1929 – December 30, 2021 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Hilda Stratton Lynch, age 92, formally of Russellville died Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Lexington Country Place in Lexington, KY. She was born on December 28, 1929 in the Ferguson community of Logan County to the late Kenneth and Marguerite Stratton. She was a 1947 graduate of Olmstead High School and a 1951 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Elementary Education. She began her teaching career in 1951 at Auburn Elementary teaching first grade for 2 years. For the next 38 years, she taught second grade in the Russellville Independent School system. By the end of her career, she taught the grandchildren of some of her first students. She was a life long member of First Baptist Church Russellville for 64 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years William T. “Chuck” Lynch. She is survived by her daughter Amy Billingsley and husband David of Versailles. Her grandchildren Kresta Wilson and husband Josh of Lexington and Kent Billingsley and wife Amber of Prospect. Her great-grandchildren Cameron, Gavin and Cohen Wilson of Lexington and Mason, Colby, Drake and Harper Billingsley of Prospect. The funeral service will be conducted Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the Young Funeral Home in Russellville Chapel with Pastor Mike Brady officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday January 3, 2021 from 10am until the funeral hour. Pallbearers; Kent Billingsley, Joshua Wilson, Cameron Wilson, Clarence Gamble, Mickey Meguiar and Charles Robertson. Honorary pallbearer will be Algie Ray Smith. The family ask that donations of sympathy be made to the Russellville Alumni Association or Lexington Elevating Abilities Foundation Inc.
