Obituary Helen Shenko, 101, of Sterling Twp. passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. She was the widow of Joseph Shenko, who passed away in 1980 and the couple was married for 40 years. Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Cimoch) Blasko. Helen was a faithful Roman Catholic that was devoted to Pope John Paul and a member of the Church of Saint Catherine of Siena in Moscow. She enjoyed tending to her garden and knitting or crocheting beautiful keepsakes for her family and friends. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially all her grandchildren and the memories that they made together will be cherished forever. Helen is survived by her daughters: Judy Vangaasbeck and her husband Donald of Sterling Twp. & Madelyn Madison and her husband Philip of Elmhurst Twp.; her grandchildren: Donna Marie Siepiela-Dolph and her husband Thomas, Theresa Chmelik, Thomas Siepiela, Philip Madison and his wife Diane, Joseph Madison and his companion Connie Prussia and Mary Edwards and her husband Steve; her great grandchildren: Joshua, Ricci, Ashley, Amber and Abby; her great great grandchildren: Eden, Aydian, Leland, Allivia, Stephen, Aaron, Kade, Melanie, Brandon, Jacob, Marilyn, Isabel and Deziree; her sister: Cecelia Maleski; her son in law: George May of Sterling Twp. and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by daughter: Ann Marie Shenko-May; her siblings: Stella Brodowski, Lottie Montaro, , Irene Ziskowski, Edward Blasko, Marion Sienko, John Blasko and Anna Blasko. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 30 at 10:30 am at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First Street in Spring Brook Twp. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in the Church of Saint Catherine of Siena, 220 Church Street in Moscow to be celebrated by Father Robert J. Simon. Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Covington Twp. A viewing will be held on Friday, from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, at the funeral home, In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
