Harold “Hecky” Saks, age 100, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully. Preceded in death by parents, Abe Saks and Anna Addis; beloved wife, Yvonne; son, Allan; sisters, Irene Levin and Molly Silver; and brothers, Ben and Samuel. Survived by his sons, Michael (Kim Paulsen) and Bruce; brother, Gerald; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; great-nieces; and special buddies, Susan Yellen, nurse, Tonya Quale, Jerry Stamm, Aaron Miller; and many other friends. “Hecky” was the last surviving serviceman that fought in the Battle of Guadalcanal. A loving kind gentleman. He is missed deeply by all of us. Graveside service 11:30 am, MONDAY, December 27th, FT. SNELLING NAT’L CEMETERY, 7601 34th Ave. S., Minneapolis, Assembly Lane # 2.
