Glenice’s Obituary Glenice Oyvonne Faircloth Armstrong, affectionately know to many as “Nanny”, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hemphill, Texas at the age of 96. Glenice was born in Noble, Louisiana on April 29, 1925. She was a resident of Hemphill, Texas for most of her life and a member of Hemphill Church of God. She worked for many years until her retirement at Temple Industries in Pineland in the Dimension Plant as a sander. She was a fantastic mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren and she was loved by so many that knew her. She will also be remembered as an excellent seamstress and her love of word searches. She is survived by her sons, Sonny Armstrong and wife, Vicky, of Pineland and Ricky Paul Armstrong and wife, Dena, of Holland, Michigan; daughters, Edna Marie Brittain of Many, LA and Sandra Hogan and husband, Benny, of Hemphill; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Haiman and her husband, Elvis Other “Red” Armstrong. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2021 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Burl McBride officiating. Burial will follow services in Centerview Cemetery.
