Geraldine Grigsby December 25, 2021 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Geraldine Grigsby, 73, died Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was a retired JCPS Bus Driver and member of Fern Creek Baptist Church. After retirement, Geraldine continued to work as a driver substitute and monitor, particularly focusing on the school system’s special needs population. She was a tireless fundraiser for the WHAS Crusade for Children, operating many Bunco nights and fostering competition between the bus compounds. Geraldine was also very active at her church. She was chairperson for the Young at Hearts group and could always be found in the kitchen on various meal nights. She enjoyed all sports, if they were part of the U of L athletic department. A true Cardinal fan, Geraldine was sure to know the schedule for any sport her in which her beloved Cardinals were competing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry D. Grigsby, Sr.; father, Mac McClain; and brother, Chalmay McClain, III. She is survived by children, Kevin Roller (Tricia), Tonya Grigsby (Shannon Fisher) and Jerry “Jay” Grigsby, Jr.; mother, Henrietta Offutt; grandchildren, Andrew Roller, Jacob Johnson, Justin Johnson, Joshua Grigsby, Krystal Roller, Shelby Messer, Dustin Henderson, Jayla Grigsby and Annie Grigsby; eight great grandchildren; brother, Mike McClain; and sister, Maxine McClain. Her funeral is 11am Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Fern Creek Baptist Church, 5920 Bardstown Road with burial in Valley Cemetery, Taylorsville. Visitation is 12-8pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Fern Creek Funeral Home, 5406 Bardstown Road and at the church after 10am Thursday until the time of the service.
