He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Lee Fugett; father, George Harold Stanley Sr.; brother Billy Stanley; sister, Jean Henerson; daughter, Bonnie Marie Stanley (34); son, Robert Anthony Stanley (29); son, David Wayne Stanley (55); son, John Richard Stanley (6 weeks); granddaughter, Misty Lynn Nelson (39) & her husband Noah Nelson (35). He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ellen Crabtree Stanley and devoted daughter, Janet Stanley-Johnson and son-in-law, Glenn Johnson; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Robertson Morris (Wayne); granddaughter, Kelly Hall (Malcolm); grandson, Mark Stanley and six great grandchildren.; five sisters, Barbara Skinner, Sally Hurlock (JB), Juanita Rouse (Roger), Gloria Golden (Jay) Frances Meadows (Jim) and numerous family members & friends. The family will receive friends from 12pm to 3pm and 6pm to 8pm, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Parkway. Graveside services will be conducted 12pm, Friday, December 3 in the chapel at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
