  1. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Gary’s passing. I met Gary at an NFLCC lure show years ago. Like Gary, I also made lures and we often traded our lures to each other. A number of years ago I decided to collect Gary’s lures and he was kind enough to make some one of a kind baits so that I have a beautiful display of his work to remember Gary. We forged a friendship and always had time for a visit at the shows. I will miss Gary and the NFLCC Milwaukee show will never be the same for me without seeing and visiting with Gary. I plan on bringing my display of Gary Bowles lures at future shows to display and honor his friendship. My sympathies to his wife Kathleen, daughters and grandchildren and many friends.

  2. Dear Kathy, I was saddened to hear of Gary’s struggle with cancer and now his passing. With Mom (Iris) gone these almost 10 years, Andy and I miss a lot of news from Ohio. I’m thankful that Korinne (Bob and Lana) keep us informed of important news.

I remember you and Gary and Gary’s sister Kathy and Uncle Dean and Aunt Veryl very fondly from the family dinners at the school. You were all so very kind to us kids. I also remember fun times at the farm when Uncle Dean would take us to watch the making of the maple syrup. I was just recalling those times with my son, Gabriel, when he sent me some Maple flavored coffee for Mother’s Day. I’m trying to keep those memories alive with my kids as so many of our family is gone.

I’m praying for you and your children, grandchildren, and their families as you are missing Gary!!! I praise the Lord that Gary is no longer suffering and is now in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m looking forward to seeing him again someday along with all of our family who are already with the Lord!!! God’s peace and comfort be yours!!! Love, Becky (Weir) Adank for Andy, Lydia, Gabe, and Noah
