Evelyn Lein, age 90 years, passed away on November 20, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born on June 7, 1931 on Staten Island, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnes Giles. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Terence E. Lein who passed away in 2013, her brothers Morgan, Arthur and Robert, her sisters Louise Harriet, Agnes and Eleanor, and her dog Beau. Survivors include her two sons Terry and his wife Deborah Lein of Hicksville N.Y. and Ken and his wife Jill Lein of Albany N.Y., her three daughters Janice Armstrong of Coxsackie N.Y., Kathi and her husband Michael O’Connell of Salisbury N.C., Susan and her husband Jeffrey Dvorin of Phillipsburg, N.J., her sister Marion and her husband Walter Miros of Florida. She also leaves behind 11 beloved grandchildren Madeline and her wife Anna Lein, Eric Lein, Keith and his wife Renae England, Kathleen Armstrong and fiance Rajan Kumar, Marie and her husband Paul Rocco, Charles and his wife Elizabeth O’Connell; Jennifer and her husband Timothy Polley, Erin and her husband Daryl Rota, Meghan and husband Keith Olson, Frank and his wife Sarah Duffy, Michelle and her husband Timothy Knoble, 17 great grandchildren and one due in May, many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat Buddy. During her lifetime, Evelyn was a long time parishioner of Our Lady Queen Peace R.C. Church, Staten Island, N.Y. before moving to Coxsackie, N.Y. in 1993. She was also a parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Coxsackie, N.Y. She enjoyed volunteering, bowling, golfing and reading. She was a member of The Coxsackie Senior Center, serving as President for many years, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, St. Mary’s R.C. Church and The Vedder Research Library/ The Greene County Historical Society prior to the Covid pandemic. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours at The W. C. Brady’s Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y. on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, Coxsackie, N.Y. Interment will take place at a later date in the springtime of 2022.
