Ethel’s Obituary Ethel Marie Ore Doyle, 87, of Virginia, IL died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021. She was born July 26, 1934, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Harold and Emma (Jokisch) Ore. She married Donald Lee Doyle on Sept. 2, 1956, at the Virginia United Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death on Nov. 20, 2013. She is survived by four children, Mike Doyle (Bernadette) of Decatur, Judy Adkins (Jay) of Ashland, Kathy Stoller of Gridley and Joshua Doyle of Virginia; four grandchildren, Shane Adkins (Maggie) of Springfield, Kayse Drennan (Joel) of Forest, VA, and Cole Stoller and Connor Stoller, both of Secor; nine great grandchildren, Nolan and Archer Adkins, Zoey, Ollie and Luna Drennan, and Alex, Aaron, Ava and Kaebri Hoque; and four nephews and one niece, Fred Ore (Debbie), Linda Damotte ( Tom), Jim Ore and John Wubker. She was preceded in death by her brother Edward Ore (surviving wife Beverly of Virginia). Ethel lived on a farm Southeast of Virginia for ten years before moving to Virginia and was a 1953 graduate of Virginia High School. She worked in several restaurants prior to starting her family. She was a member of the Virginia United Methodist Church and helped deliver Bread of Love meals in the Virginia community and served many election day dinners at the church. Ethel especially loved being with family and going camping in their RV to many parts of the country with family and dear friends. She dearly loved to watch her grandchildren in sports and other events. She was a dedicated homemaker and very talented at cooking and baking. She also loved her many dogs over the years. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022, at the Virginia United Methodist Church in Virginia, with burial at Walnut Ridge. An informal visitation will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Virginia United Methodist Church.
