Elena Di Fiore November 30, 2021 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guestbook Elena Di Fiore ( nee Di Nizo ) 83, of Scotch Plains, died on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. The Funeral will be on Friday, December 3, 2021, from the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Ave. Scotch Plains, starting with a Visitation at 10am till 12pm. A Funeral Mass will then be celebrated at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church, Scotch Plains, at 1pm. The Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery & Mausoleum, Colonia. Elena was born in Montazzoli, Italy a province of Chiete. She grew up and lived in Montazzoli and even began her family there until immigrating to the United States in 1966. Elena settled to Scotch Plains in 1966 and has been a resident since. Elena worked as an assembly line worker with Mattel for several years, prior to becoming a full time homemaker to take care of her family. She was a member of the Italian American Club Woman’s Auxiliary and the Scotch Plains Seniors. Elena enjoyed cooking and game shows. She took great comfort in being able to help family and friends, she was very outgoing, and was always willing to help in the community. Elena was devoted to her church, St. Bartholomew the Apostle, in Scotch Plains, and was an active parishioner for over 40 years. Elena is predeceased by her parents John & Concetta Di Nizo and her in-laws Mauro & Angela Di Fiore. She is survived by her Beloved husband of 65 years, John. Her loving children Nino, Mauro and Maria and her husband Al Baranowski; her caring grandchildren Chris, Jessica and husband Henry Pineda, Melissa, Jonathan and wife Amanda, Steven and life partner Tiff, and Joseph; her cherished great grandchildren, Kaiden, Lia, Hailey,and soon-to-be Elena; and Elena is also survived by her loving sister Josephine Iarussi and husband John.
