Eleanor’s Obituary Eleanor T. Cappadona, 89, of Rutherford, passed away on November 28, 2021. Born in Jersey City, she lived there before moving to Rutherford 57 years ago. A parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church, Lyndhurst, Eleanor was a co-owner/operator of her family-owned business, Sterling Delicatessen & Liquors, located in Jersey City, for over 30 years, before retiring. Eleanor loved to cook, and was the head of “The Family Cooking Club” Beloved wife for 65 years of the late Francesco “Frank” Cappadona who passed away in 2020. Devoted mother of Celeste Cappadona of Lyndhurst, Roseann Cappadona-Marturano and her husband Thomas of Clifton, and Frank Cappadona, Jr., of Rutherford. Loving grandmother of Michael and JaeMarie Marturano and Blaise Stoltenborg.Cherished great grandmother of Valentino Francesco. Dear sister of George Scarpa of Woodland Park. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visiting Tuesday 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Wednesday 11:45 AM at the funeral home and 1 PM at Sacred Heart RC Church, Lyndhurst. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield.
