Edward Lewis Johnson departed this life suddenly on Friday December 17, 2021. Affectionately known by his family as Eddie. He was born on October 6,1950 in Washington, DC to the late Etheleen Green-Johnson and James Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Jacqueline Johnson, one son William Jackson. At an early age Eddie gave his life to Christ and joined The Way of the Cross Church of Christ. As a native Washingtonian, Eddie received his education in the DC public school system, graduating from Bell Vocational High school. Eddie enlisted in the U.S Army and served 8 years. He earned a National Defense medal, sharpshooter 16 and 1st class M203. He left the Army after being Honorably discharged. After his military career he went to work for Colorado Security for several years, later he worked for Thomas House for 25 years. Eddie retired from The Washington Home for the Aging who loved him dearly in 2016. In between his military career and civilian career Eddie met his neighborhood love Christine (Honey) Jackson after having a bowl of Honey’s Potato salad , Eddie was in love forever. They married January 6,1992. Eddie was the neighborhood DJ. He loved his music, and he kept the neighborhood dancing decades ago. He enjoyed watching his old movies, dvds and his favorite football team The Washington Football Team (formerly) The Washington Redskins. Eddie loved to go fishing and crabbing , spending time at Budd’s Creek raceway and visiting Orlando Florida to hangout with Mickey and Minnie. Most importantly Eddie loved his family and spending time with them. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Christine; one brother, James Johnson; one uncle, Wilbert ( Josephine) ; five daughters Veronica (Chris), Kathleen McDonald (Eric), Teresa William’s ( Angelo ) Linda Hudson ( Andrew) Sharon McIver ( Shaun); 12 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
