Earl’s Obituary Earl F. “Bub” Whitmore, Sr., 68, of Bangor, PA passed away Thursday, August 26th, at his residence. Bub was born in East Stroudsburg, PA on July 20, 1953, a son of the late Don and Betty (Van Why) LaBar. He was the husband of Betsy J. Whitmore. They celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary last April. Bub was employed as a maintenance worker and truck driver for Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. Prior to that, he was employed at Dally’s Slate Quarry in Pen Argyl, PA, and at APEX Texicon in Mt. Bethel, PA. Bub enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and dancing. He was an avid gardener and dog lover. In addition to his loving wife Betsy, Earl is survived by two daughters, Kelly S. Gregory, wife of Chuck, and Catherine A. Acklen, two sons Robert A. Whitmore, husband of Jennifer and Earl F. Whitmore, husband of Charlene, five sisters, Susan Klingle, Ida and Ann LaBar, Tina Lance, and Donna Hilbert, two brothers, Donnie Van Why and Russ LaBar, 8 grandchildren Tyler, Brianna, Dylan, Cody, Marissa, Alyson, Nathan, and Jax, 5 step-grandchildren Trevor, Josh, Trent, Tanner, and Trevor, and one great-grandson Sage. At the request of the family please dress in NASCAR attire to Earl’s services. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from Noon to 1 PM on Wednesday, September 1st at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane “Village of Johnsonville” Bangor, PA. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 1st at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held at North Bangor Cemetery in Bangor, PA.
