Doris Toler Cater, age 86, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital. She was born on July 12, 1935 in Royston, GA to the late James Albert Toler and Nora Kraft Toler. Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Earl Franklin Cater; children, Tony Cater, Gary Earl Cater, Alisa Darlene Cater and siblings, Margie Peacock, Jenny Lockmen, Doug Steadmen, Shirley Hicks, Jimmy Toler and Helen Dalton. She is survived by children, Michael Cater and Darren Cater. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and siblings, Mildred Hershberger, Bonnie Piper, Cecil Reynolds and Linda Wright. The funeral service celebrating Doris’s life is Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan. Burial will follow the service at Turin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Doris’s name to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291.
