Donald’s Obituary Reidsville – Donald Edward Tucker, Sr. departed this life on Friday morning, June 4, 2021. As a native and lifelong resident of Rockingham County, North Carolina, he attended the local public schools and was a faithful member of Jerusalem United Holy Church. Following many years of laboring, he retired from ITG Brands (Lorillard Tobacco Company) and was formerly employed by Commonwealth Brands (American Tobacco Co.). Affectionately referred by family and close friends as “Suitcoat” and “Tuck”, he was an avid sportsman with a penchant for golfing and bowling. Being well-liked and well-respected in the community, “Tuck” loved his grandchildren, enjoyed watching karate movies, sporting his toothpicks and was known for his jolly personality. His parents, Emma Scales Tucker and John Leonard Tucker; grandchild, Nayata Brown, brothers, Leonard Tucker and Floyd “Fluffy” Tucker, preceded him in death. Survivors are: beloved children, Donald Tucker, Jr. (Yolanda), Shonta Brown, Lamont Tucker, Antonio Galloway, Anthony Galloway and Maxine Carter; sister, Barbara “Bye” Hooper (Thomas); brother and caregiver, Franklin “Lo” Tucker; grandchildren, Tre’lon Carter, Nicholas Adkins, Jayden Tucker, Damarion Brown and Layla Tucker; godson, Shareff Murphy; special friends, Tillman Thomas (Rev. Mary), Charlie Adams (Beverly), Douglas “June” Settle, James Mines (Jane) and Napoleon Adams; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 from the Greenview Cemetery, 1004 Montgomery Street with Elder Mary E. Jackson presiding.
