Donald C. Brown, 80, of Hanover, loving husband of Nancy Lee Groft Brown, died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at UPMC Hanover Hospital following a brief illness. Born on Friday, June 20, 1941 in Glen Rock, he was a son of the late William and Anna Menchey Brown. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Arthur Brown, Thomas Eugene Brown and Norman Lee Brown and three sisters, Ruth Elizabeth Hicks, Phyllis Irene Bollinger and Janet Rae Bollinger. A 1958 graduate of Spring Grove High School, he was employed by Sears for 40 years, retiring in 2001. Donald loved to travel by car and visited every state except for Hawaii, but his favorite place was home. He was a member of the Hanover and McSherrystown Home Associations, the New Oxford Social Club, the Hanover Eagles Aerie 1406 and the McSherrystown Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 227. He was also a member of the Harold H. Bair American Legion Post #14, Amvets Post 22 and Hanover VFW Post 2506. In addition to his wife of 27 years, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly Ann Brown Schoenberger and her husband, Kevin of Mercersburg and Marcie Ann Moore and her husband, Robert of Hellam; six grandchildren and one sister, Marjorie Mae Trump of Spring Grove.
