Obituary Don Farmer, age 84 of Georgetown, departed this life on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his residence. Born in Kentucky on July 7, 1937 to the late Clay and Orpha Lakes Farmer, he lived a majority of his life in Bradley County and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. Don was retired from Hopewell Elementary after 30 years of teaching and was an avid golf and tennis player, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Delores Owens Farmer; children, Michael Farmer (Gwen), Carolyn Hicks, and Julie Farmer; grandchildren, Ben Farmer, Andrew Farmer, Alyson Bryant(Stephen), Emily Crouch(Trent), Jacob Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Heather Farmer, and Nicholas Farmer; great-grandchildren, Aleah, Ana Reese, Caroline, Olivia, and Claire; as well as extended family members and a host of friends. A Celebration of Life and Home going for Donald Clay Farmer will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Pastor Nolan Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 5p.m.until 8p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
