Dianne’s Obituary Dianne Costa (Dunsworth) died peacefully at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee on Thursday October 28th, 2021, at the age of 79. Dianne was surrounded by love as her three sons held her for one last time. Dianne was born on August 21, 1942, in Chicago to Wallace and Emma Dunsworth. The Dunsworth family eventually moved to Mundelein IL, where they laid down deep roots. Dianne and her three sisters (Nancy, Susan, and Pat) absolutely loved each other and competitively tried to outwit one another in jest. Due to these mischievous traits, that side of Dianne lived with her throughout her life and much to the chagrin of many others was also transferred to her three sons. Dianne’s life changed dramatically on February 11, 1961, when she married her sweetheart, Vince. The two of them then attempted to break the world’s record for having the most residences. Their nomadic lifestyle took them to several addresses throughout Mundelein, Libertyville, Ingleside, central Illinois, and most of Missouri. There was even a brief stint out in California, but that didn’t last long because it seems that one needs a job to live in California. Their homes were an eclectic combination of beautiful lake homes in Lake of the Ozarks to a questionable mobile home where it was warmer outside than inside even during the grips of winter. An incredibly fun past time within immediate family and friends is to try and name every address that Vince and Dianne have inhabited. It is an almost impossible task. Due to their wandering lifestyle, Dianne had a very well-rounded professional life. She became a kind of “Swiss army knife” to the labor pool. Dianne worked in a bank, was an administrative assistant, cleaned houses, worked at a correctional facility (lots of good stories there), and pretty much did whatever there was to do. Most recently, she worked at an animal shelter which fit her life and personality perfectly because she never met an animal that she didn’t love. Dianne is survived by her youngest sister Pat (Wayne Gerner), three sons Vince (Crystal), Tony (Michelle), Chris (Still Available Ladies!), 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her sisters Nancy and Susan, and her husband Vince. There is no doubt that when Dianne was walking up to those pearly gates Saint Peter expedited her arrival and asked her to please take control of that unruly gang as well as the 40 some odd pets that have been patiently waiting for her. Dianne was very loved and will be dearly missed and taught her three boys an especially important rule. The rule of “you are never bigger than your mother” served her well for her 60 years of parenthood. In lieu of flowers, please send a generous donation to Dogwood Animal Shelter at www.daslakeoftheozarks.com. Mom would love that. The family has chosen a private service.
