DeLourdes’ Obituary DeLourdes (Orie) E. Meyer passed away peacefully at Norton Audubon Hospital on December 25, 2021, at the age of 98. She was born in Louisville, KY on March 3, 1923 to Albert Wright, Sr. and Emma (Gerwols) Wright, who preceded her in death. DeLourdes married her love Clarence W. Meyer on May 28, 1946, they shared 43 cherished years together before his passing. DeLourdes was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church and a resident of the surrounding neighborhood for 60 years. DeLourdes worked for the State Board of Health and Southern Optical as a young woman and continued to work as a seamstress for many years. DeLourdes was a beloved family member to all, gaining the lasting nickname “Aunt Orie” and later, “Grandma”. Throughout her life DeLourdes demonstrated generosity, tenacity, love for family, and a strong sense of humor. She leaves a legacy of love and countless memories behind to all those who survive her. DeLourdes is survived by her two children, Michael J. Meyer (Yvonne Husman) and Timothy J. (Ravenna) Meyer, her former daughter-in-law Laura Meyer, and her granddaughters, Katherine M. Meyer and Kimberly M. Meyer, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence W. Meyer and her siblings Albert Jr., Charles, Grace, Lester, Rita, and Roberta. Visitation to be held Monday January 3, 2021 from 2-8 PM at Bosse Funeral Home at 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM Tuesday January 4, 2021 at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, 2931 Pindell Avenue, Louisville, KY 40217 with Entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
