Deborah’s Obituary Graveside services for Deborah B. Smith, 67, of Tylertown, Mississippi will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Tylertown Cemetery. Mrs. Smith passed away in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on Friday, April 16, 2021. She was born January 24, 1954 in Tylertown, Mississippi to the late Joyce Breeland Fitch and Thomas Fitch. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents Frank and Rebecca Jane Dillon. Larry Smith Sr., her devoted husband and constant companion of 46 years was unable to survive her passing. Left to cherish her memory are children Larry (Nora) Smith, Jr, Leisha Monet, and Melanie Sherwood; grandchildren Tom Smith, Daniel Smith, Rohan Smith, Lesslie (Andy) Lawson, Hunter Sherwood, Alex (Bonnie) Sherwood, and Cameron Sherwood; great grandchildren Declan Smith, Elias Smith, and Whitley Sherwood; brother Roger Breeland and sisters Tammy (Rusty) Wicker and Rebecca Fitch-Dupre; aunts Irene Magee and Wanzie Yates. Deborah (Deborah Joyce to some) was adored by her family, her close friends, and all who knew and loved her for being a “a ray of sunshine and happiness in this world”. She was an avid gardener who took great pride in her roses, was an outstanding cook, an outdoors person, enjoyed camping, and well traveled throughout the US and Canada (she often said the most beautiful place she visited was Alaska). She and her husband enjoyed serving as camp hosts at state and national parks during their retirement but her heart was her home, her family, and her church. She was a Christian and beloved member of the Tylertown Baptist Church. Everyone who knew her and had the honor of being loved by her knew they were in the presence of one of God’s angels on Earth.
