Obituary for Ms. Darlene N. Masco Darlene Masco, 79, formally of Neptune City and Jackson, NJ, passed away on June 19, 2021.She was born September 7th, 1941 in Manhattan, NY to Gladys Hornback. Darlene is survived by her son, James Masco (Susan) and their children, Sarah Cressman (Robert), and Randy Masco, and her son Pasquale Masco (Janis), and their daughter Anastasia. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Kay Wennberg, a daughter Gaetana Masco, and a brother Kenneth Hornback (Marlene). She was predeceased by her mother, Gladys Hornback, her beloved brother Skippy (William) Wennberg, and her best friend in life Maria Wilde. She lived most of her life in NJ, and attended Asbury Park High School. She was a constant presence in local beauty pageants in her teens. Darlene enjoyed being a Mom, and was very active in numerous activities in Neptune City, including Woodrow Wilson PTA, Boy Scouts, Little League, and Girl scouts. Darlene worked in restaurants most of her life, and was known for her bright blues eyes, infectious smile, and her love of conversing with all of her customers. She valued hard-work, and continued to work well into her 70’s. Darlene always believed in providing excellent customer service in every job she ever worked. She was warm, friendly, and loved by all who knew her. She loved being a grandma to Sarah, Randy, and Anastasia most of all, and was a constant and loving presence in their lives. She also loved all her nieces and nephews and their children. Darlene had a heart of gold, and would give you everything she had if you needed it. She will be missed by all who knew her. The Family will hold a service celebrating Darlene’s life on Sunday, June 27, 2021, between 3 pm and 5 pm, at Ely Funeral Home, 3316 NJ-33, Neptune City, NJ. Darlene wishes to have her ashes spread at Memorial Park in Neptune City, which is where she had fond memories of time spent with her children. This will take place at a later date.
