Charles Hrinko, Jr., age 90 years and 353 days, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at UPMC Hamot. He was born in Ambridge, PA on December 26, 1930 a son of the late Charles and Mary Kusnirak Hrinko. Charles served in the United States Navy and worked as a steamfitter with the Local 333 Steamfitters for 59 years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and a life member of the St. Boniface Ushers Club. He belonged to the Silver Sneakers at the YMCA and was active in the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles, puzzles, and sharing a Genny Cream Ale after work with his wife and family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Julia Manendo; his brother, Frank Hrinko; and his stepmother, Anna Hrinko. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joan G. Krill Hrinko; three sons, Bruce Hrinko (Sue) of Erie, Brian Hrinko (Karen) of Girard, and Bradley Hrinko of Erie; four grandchildren, Scott Hrinko (Christina), Matthew Hrinko, Leslie Dardaris, and Ron Cenfetelli; four great grandchildren, William and Ava Hrinko, and Jake and Jessie Dardaris; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount of Olives Cemetery.
