Obituary Cathy (Catherine) Marie Cronin, age 68, of Lapeer, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 as a result of COVID-19. Cathy was born to Keith and Ruth (Eilers) Bell in Davenport, Iowa. After graduating from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, she eventually moved to Lapeer to serve as secretary at First Baptist Church and found her forever home and community in Lapeer. She married Dave Cronin in 1988 and was blessed with two wonderful daughters- Jennifer (Brandon) Webb of Lapeer, and Amy (Sean) Minton stationed with the Army in Georgia. She has four grandchildren- Sadie Webb, Judah Webb, Ellie Webb, and Asher Webb, with others to come soon. Cathy was very proud of her Iowa heritage, and as an avid sports fan was devoted to the Iowa Hawkeye teams. She was a member of Hunters Creek Community Church and very active in Awana programs. She was a faithful Christian whose knowledge of God’s love drove her to love and invest in other people. Cathy enjoyed a good laugh and was often the unsuspecting source of pranks between friends and family. Most of all she delighted in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Cathy is also survived by her brothers- Eddie (Gerianne) Bell, Paul (Lisa) Bell, Jon (Harriette) Bell, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Jerry. There will be a private service for the immediate family at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. A celebration of her life will occur at a memorial service in early summer.
